if I buy traffic for my website does that hurt my seo standings?

Hi,

Buying traffic for your website will not hurt your SEO standings. However you SEO standing will be affected if you get your traffic from methods like:

- Linking to Link farms
- Linking to FFA directories
- Linking to bad neighborhood networks

More importantly is to ask yourself why and from where you are buying your traffic from:

- PPC – keyword targeted traffic (recommended if have budget)

- Other website traffic methods – tend to be fake automated hits to your site (not recommended)

- Traffic exchange / Similar methods – Might get heavy traffic but usually NO SALES (not recommended – traffic you get are mostly advertisers like yourself and only interested to advertise their own services)

My personal advice is for you to optimize your site and embark on link building campaign. Organic search traffic is the best FREE method to acquire keyword targeted and real potential buyers

Regards

I don’t recommend buying traffic, It is often auto-generated bots that do it and wont lead to a sale. Therefore, It’s simply taking up server space and detracting your real customers.

There is certainly no harm in buying traffic to your website, but you want to make sure the traffic is targeted and under your control. I suggest staying away from any methods that simply sell bulk leads, as your conversion rates on this type of traffic will be slim to none, and it simply isn’t normally worth the investment.

If you have a budget for traffic, then your best bet is going to be utilizing Pay Per Click methods such as Yahoo Search Marketing, Google Adwords or Microsoft adCenter. This will allow you to monitor your results and see if your advertising dollars are being well spent.

Keep in mind… PPC traffic is a valuable and necessary resource, but there are far more ways to generate free traffic to your site than most people realize. And if you know how to "work the system" with these methods, you can get results that far surpass paid methods. The only requirements are an investment in your time and a willingness to learn and apply…

I hope this information is helpful!

That is a difficult one to answer without knowing where the traffic is coming from. It is possible that your website could be associated with so called "black hat" techniques and banned from Google!

Most traffic that you buy is either fully automated or low quality traffic exchange traffic where users are rewarded in some way for clicking through one website after another every 10-15 seconds.

It is not difficult to learn how to get web traffic for free. I used to buy traffic all the time until I read a book called "The Ultimate Guide To Free Web Traffic". I was getting automated and low quality traffic and never made one sale.

However, after I read the Ultimate Guide To Free Web Traffic I started doing what it said and within a week I had over 200 visitors a day with a 5% conversion rate!!!

If you get time take a look…

It cost around $30 when I bought it but you can get it for a fraction of that now.
